Fish House
A Nautical Ambience in the Historic Heart of Prizren
Designed and executed in 2017, Fish House is located in the historic district of Prizren, Kosovo. Surrounded by traditional architecture, the interior and façade design were carefully crafted to harmonize with the existing urban fabric while introducing a fresh, maritime-inspired aesthetic.
The interior design concept focuses on materiality and color balance. Shades of blue were incorporated to evoke a serene nautical atmosphere, while wooden elements were selected to bring warmth and natural texture to the space. Comfort was a priority, leading to the design of ergonomically crafted chairs and armchairs, ensuring a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.
Spatial flexibility played a crucial role in the design. The ground floor features fully retractable glass panels, allowing the indoor and outdoor areas to merge seamlessly during the summer months. This enhances the dining experience by creating a spacious and airy environment, integrating the garden with the main dining space.
The façade design was approached with sensitivity to its historic surroundings. The existing architectural character was preserved, while contemporary interventions were carefully integrated to maintain harmony with the neighboring buildings. Inside, natural textures, soft lighting, and maritime-themed decorative elements reinforce the concept and ambiance of the space.
Fish House represents a seamless blend of tradition and modernity, offering an interior space that prioritizes both aesthetics and comfort while respecting the historical integrity of its surroundings.
